Top News Apps on Android in Middle East Q4 2024

In the fourth quarter of 2024, the top News and Magazines applications on the Android platform in the Middle East displayed diverse performance trends in terms of downloads and active users. Here's a closer look at the top five apps based on data from Sensor Tower.

X (Formerly Twitter) saw a varied trend in weekly downloads, starting at approximately 71K downloads in early October and closing the quarter with around 71K again. Notably, there was a peak of 73K downloads in late November. Revenue for the app showed an upward trend towards the end of the quarter, peaking at about $70.9K in early December. Weekly active users had a gradual decline from approximately 10.9M to 9.4M by the end of December.

The app نبض Nabd - اخبار العالم ، عاجل experienced fluctuations in weekly downloads, starting at 21K and ending the quarter with approximately 11.5K. The app's revenue remained low, with a slight increase in the last week of December reaching $157. Weekly active users saw a recovery towards the end of the quarter, increasing from about 340K to 388K.

Tzofar - Red Alert | צופר had a notable decline in downloads, starting at 19K in early October and dropping to around 3.2K by the end of December. Active users also decreased significantly from approximately 267K to 136K.

RedAlert - צבע אדום followed a similar trend, with downloads decreasing from 18K to about 3.3K by year-end. The app's active user base also saw a reduction from around 326K to approximately 217K.

Lastly, Al Mashhad experienced a consistent decline in downloads, starting at 3.9K and ending at 670 downloads. However, its active user count remained relatively stable, fluctuating around 17K throughout the quarter.
